Kansas City Royals skipper Ned Yost ran into trouble earlier this week when he stopped to watch the Kansas City Chiefs minicamp.
Yost said he just wanted to stop by and send his greetings to new Chiefs coach Andy Reid when he found the team was practicing. He was immediately surrounded by team security before he was able to retreat back to where he came from.
“I almost got arrested, for taking a peek at the Chiefs doing their minicamp. They surrounded me with security. I’m not going to sell any secrets. They were fine once they figured out who I was.”
"Hey, I just wanted to see what was going on," Yost told the security guards. "They said, 'Well, you can't be here, it's closed.'"
Whew. Close call.
It should be noted that the two teams share the Truman Sports Complex.
Apparently, Reid has his portion locked down harder than Fort Knox.
