NBC Sports has been looking for a new voice to replace Faith Hill for the introduction of Sunday Night Football ever since Hill opted to give up the role last month, a role in which Hill held for six years.
Naturally, rumors have run wild about who the network may tab to replace her. Well, all of that speculation could come to an end soon when NBC makes what they referred to as a "major talent announcement."
The network sent out a press release Monday stating that an announcement involving Sunday Night Football is set to be made at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Then came the following tweet from country music star Carrie Underwood:
Just to let you know, we have some great news that we'll be sharing tomorrow! I'm really excited about it! Stay tuned...Could she be alluding to a partnership with SNF?

We shall know the answer for sure by Tuesday evening.
Sunday Night Football was television's most popular primetime program in 2012. It drew in an average of nearly 22 million viewers per broadcast last season.
UPDATE: NBC has confirmed Underwood as Hill's replacement.
