Miami Marlins starting pitcher Jose Fernandez was fired up after ripping an RBI single off Phillies southpaw Cole Hamels on Saturday. And deservedly so. His base knock effectively gave the Marlins a 1-0 lead to work with in the fifth inning.
But then Fernandez ran into a woeful time trying to put on his jacket. You know, because pitchers love to wear their jackets for the rare occasions they actually make it on base. Especially on a cool Miami evening in April. Nonetheless, it was evident that Fernandez hasn't had much practice dressing himself on the baseball field.
Following some assistance from umpire Chris Guccione and first-base coach Perry Hill, Fernandez finally manages to pull the jacket over his head, which draws a warm (pun intended) ovation from the thin crowd at Marlins Park.
