Video: Jadeveon Clowney scores touchdown in South Carolina spring football game
On Saturday, the South Carolina Gamecocks hosted their annual spring football game.
One player who wasn't expected to participate was All-American defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who many believe is one of the top college football players in the country.
The junior-to-be has been battling mild neck pain and a mild concussion recently. So, as a precautionary measure, head coach Steve Spurrier and his staff thought it would be best to have Clowney spend the exhibition game on the sidelines.
Well, Clowney managed to make an appearance on the gridiron after all, but only for one play. Clowney snuck onto the field during the fourth quarter without a helmet or pads, caught a pass, and rolled around on the ground a bit before getting up and jogging into the end zone for a touchdown.
Apparently, Spurrier pulls this shenanigan every spring game with one player. And the 2013 honoree just so happened to be Clowney.
Sure, the touchdown would never count in an actual game, but it sure did make the fans happy to see their star player in action. Even if it was on the other side of the ball.
