Video: Dad protects daughter from being hit by foul ball

Quick reflexes and quick thinking helped this family avoid major disaster during Monday's game between the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays at Camden Yards.

In the bottom of the first, Baltimore's Matt Wieters sent a screaming line drive off to the first base side and into the first row of the stands. That is when fatherly instincts kicked in as this man's fast reaction helped protect his young daughter from being plunked by a ball. He explains how he did it in the video above.

Monday also marked the first Orioles game of the adorable toddler's lifetime. Thankfully, she came away unharmed and happy as her O's edged out Toronto for a 2-1 victory.

She wasn't the only one who suffered a scare from a foul ball during the game. Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista nearly had his head taken off in the dugout by another errant liner.
