Nationals-White Sox game delayed because umpires were stuck in traffic

Weather has been the culprit of countless delays and postponements in baseball over the years. In fact, nearly every team who plays their games outside of a dome has to deal with weather troubles at least a few times over the course of a season.

But a first time occurrence may have happened Wednesday night when the start of the Nationals and White Sox game was reportedly pushed back because of the untimeliness of the umpiring crew.

Apparently, the start of the game was delayed a full 15 minutes because the umpires got caught up in heavy D.C. traffic on their way to Nationals Park.

First pitch finally got underway at 7:20 p.m and drew the applause of the crowd who waited patiently for their arrival.
