Kevin Ware invited to attend prestigious White House dinner

Nearly every college basketball fan in the country knows who Kevin Ware is at this point.

For those who may not, Ware is the Louisville guard who suffered a gruesome leg injury while trying to block a shot during an Elite Eight game against Duke. Despite the injury, Ware's Cardinals went on to capture the national championship behind some heavy cheerleading and inspiration from their fallen teammate.

Ware's heart-warming story extends well beyond just his teammates, fans, and coaches, though. The entire college basketball community is rooting for Ware's full recovery, which is expected to be 6-8 months. In the meantime, the school has confirmed that Ware has been invited to attend the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 27.

An invitation was reportedly sent to Ware by CNN. If he goes, he will get the chance to eat dinner and interact with President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, congressional leaders, and some of the country's finest newsmakers.

Ware will also be visiting the nation's capitol at some point this summer when Louisville takes a trip to the White House to celebrate their national title.
