On Tuesday, McClelland was forced into calling pitches from behind the pitcher's mound after one of his colleagues was hit by a pitch.
On Wednesday, McClelland was in the middle of a predicament again when Los Angeles Angels pitcher Matt Oye began warming up in the seventh inning. Someone from the Cleveland Indians dugout alerted McClelland that Oye had a distracting white fingernail on his pitching hand. Los Angeles skipper Mike Scioscia came out to receive an explanation and McClelland was happy to oblige.
