Photo: Charleston RiverDogs offering beer milkshakes this season

Good news for those of you who enjoy both the sweetness of a milkshake and the refreshing taste of a cold brew.

The Charleston RiverDogs, the Single-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, are planning to add a beverage to their concession stand that mixes milkshakes and beer together. The concoction will be aptly named a beer shake and will be available for purchase all season long at Joseph P. Riley Park.

The shake will come in three mouth-watering flavors: Palmetto Espresso Porter Chocolate, Guinness Caramel and Sweetwater 420 Strawberry. Now, doesn't that just sound great or what?

John Schumacher, the team's food and beverage director, has gained quite the reputation of boasting unusual culinary creations in the past. Schumacher is the mastermind behind such things as the Pickle Dog, Pig on a Stick, and the Peanut Butter and Jelly Jalepeno Bacon Burger, the latter of which will make its debut in 2013.

So, who is up for a trip to Charleston, West Virginia this summer?

  1. The Charleston RiverDogs are in South Carolina, not West Virginia.
