NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has been hit with plenty of criticism over the past few years. But what hit her Thursday night may be a first.
According to the USA TODAY, Patrick was struck in the head by a flying rock while attending a dirt race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The force was so great that it even sent the diminutive driver to the ground.
"I feel like I have a concussion from last night," she said, half-joking. "It's really sore. It hit me straight in the head. Good thing I had a hat on, or I feel like there would have been blood."The incident marked the second time in less than a week that a racing-related activity caused Patrick a headache. The Sprint Cup rookie said she suffered a sore neck and a bad headache following her crash into the wall during the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Speedway last Sunday. She finished 39th.
It has been a rough week for Danica, indeed.
