Video: Sidney Crosby bloodied after taking puck to the face
Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby took a wicked puck to the face during the second period of Tuesday's game against the New York Islanders. The accident forced the Penguins captain out of the game and off the ice as he suffered considerable bleeding.
The incident occurred during a Pittsburgh power play when Crosby got tangled up with Islanders defenseman Brian Strait. Crosby was escorted to the locker room for medical treatment before later returning with 12:22 remaining.
New York fans can be heard applauding and cheering in the video as the bruised All-Star left the rink immediately following the injury. Listen for yourself.
The visiting Penguins got the last laugh, however, by winning the game 4-2.
