Photo: Oscar winner wears Robert Griffin socks to ceremony
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III didn't win an Oscar on Sunday, but his presence was certainly felt in the form of socks.
Sean Fine, a Washington native, won the Oscar for best documentary short after directing Inocente, a flick about the role of art in the journey of a 15-year-old homeless immigrant.
During the red carpet ceremony, Fine proudly showed off his infamous burgundy and gold striped RGIII socks to any reporter or photographer that cared to see them. The socks are written with a simple message that reads: "no pressure no diamonds."
Fine tweeted the following at Griffin's Twitter account after accepting his prestigious award:
"We just won an Oscar 'no pressure no diamonds.'"
Griffin responded by writing, "Awesome. Lol."
Awesome indeed. What a display of team pride.
