Vikings forced to switch hotels ahead of game at Green Bay on Saturday

Welcome to Appleton

The Minnesota Vikings are staying at a Holiday Inn tonight because the hotel they usually crash at was already booked.

Visiting NFL teams usually stay at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton when they travel to Lambeau Field to play the Green Bay Packers. That isn't the case for the Vikings on Friday as they will be lodging at the Holiday Inn in downtown Neenah instead.

Minnesota is slated to clash with the Packers on Saturday night in the opening NFC Wild Card game.

A few weeks ago, Jay Schumerth, the senior general manager at the Radisson, was keeping his fingers crossed for a bye week because his hotel was booked with wrestling fans for a tournament this weekend. Unfortunately, that didn't come to fruition and the hotel was forced to close its proverbial doors on the Vikings.

Minnesota previously stayed at the Radisson during the first weekend in December. The Vikings lost that game, 23-14.

Perhaps a change of scenery will improve the outcome this time around?
