Video: Wisconsin's Chase Hammond receives brutal hit in Rose Bowl
Stanford safety Jordan Richards delivered a smashing hit to Wisconsin wide receiver Chase Hammond in the Rose Bowl on Tuesday.
The play occurred midway through the third quarter on a 3rd-and-7 situation when Badgers quarterback Curt Phillips proceeded to launch a long pass attempt to Hammond. Hammond would drop the pass just before Richards met him with a crushing blow.
Hammond was injured on the play and had to be helped off the field.
To add injury to insult, Wisconsin went on to win the game by a tally of 20-14.
South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney also laid some serious lumber earlier in the day.
