Pittsburgh man arrested after attempting to break into Steelers' locker room

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't participating in the NFL playoffs this season, but that didn't stop one fan from trying to gain access to the team's locker room.

John Winters, 28, was arrested on Saturday after attempting to break into the Steelers' locker room at Heinz Field, according to police.

Winters allegedly gained entry into the premises after breaking the lock to Gate B. Then, security guards watched as cameras showed the crazed fan using a hammer to try and break into the locker room. Bizarre, right?

He was eventually busted when police officers and security guards found him in the hallway outside of the locker room. There they found a hammer and a bolt that held the doorknob together laying next to where he was standing.

Winters is charged with burglary and possessing instruments of a crime.

No word yet on what his motive was. Perhaps he was looking to give an ear full to Pittsburgh players for missing the playoffs at 8-8?

The Steelers missed the postseason for just the second time since 2006 this year.
