According to their latest press release, the signs seem to point to yes. The LFL has a press conference slated for Jan. 9 in Los Angeles with which they are expected to announce the exact details of the changes:
Nation’s fastest growing sports league’ (NBC Sports), Lingerie Football League (or ‘LFL’) officials have announced there will be a major re-branding which could include as much as a name change, uniform and game equipment modification of the league heading into its 4th season in the United States as it prepares to further brand the sport internationally.
This is the next step in the maturation of our now global sport. While the Lingerie Football League name has drawn great media attention allowing us to showcase the sport to millions, we have now reached a crossroad of gaining credibility as a sport or continuing to be viewed as a gimmick. In order to reach the next milestone, we feel the focus has to be the sport and our amazing athletes”, said Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Lingerie Football League, LLC.
The league is set to kick off their new season beginning in April. The LFL boasts 12 teams in the United States, four more in Canada, and will soon expand into Europe and Australia, as well.
The decision to re-brand their image is undoubtedly an attempt at becoming more respectable and marketable to mainstream media. However, could these changes backfire and actually alienate their existing fan base instead? Only time will tell.

awesome
ReplyDeleteAwesome ball! I think its the new great sport! let the girls play.
ReplyDeleteTAKE IT OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF......... ALLLL OF IT NO PADS NO HELMET AND INSTEAD OF A GRASS FIELD LEMME SEEE THHESES GIRLS GO ALL OUT IN SOME MUD BALLL.... AND INSDTEAD OF A BALLL..... MY DICK
ReplyDeleteWhat some sexist idiots like the one above don't realize is that these girls/women are ATHLETES.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see them have games regularly on TV.
Yup. Athletes. They can athlete all over my dick.
DeleteAnonymous is nutso.
ReplyDeleteAthletes? Well, how come nobody (but her, it seems) watches. Is it that they're afraid of 'wardrobe malfunctions?'
Or is it that it's more fun to watch REAL athletes actually compete?
The world's fastest growing 'sport.' That probably means they had two more lesbos watching this year than last.
ever been to a game?
Deleteall i saw was men there
If its so much about the athletes then why do they dress like skanky strippers ? Anyone who watches that stupid shit is not only sexist but fucking stupid as well !
ReplyDeleteGuys watch females sports for ONE REASON! T & A! Period! You stop that, they lose interest! Beach volleyball, gymnastics, tennis..all popular because we see pretty girls and skin! Cover them up, we lost interest! Comprendeh?
ReplyDeleteAs a man, no, I can't turn off the switch that attracts me scantily clad women. Nor do I want to. Nature is nature...
ReplyDeleteBut as a former football player and coach, if you really sit down and watch an LFL game, those women can play!
Female athletes are evolving rapidly. So I will definitely continue to support the LFL, whether they cover up more or not.
I'm the guy who made the comment about the sexist idiots.
DeleteI played hockey, football and some other sports.
I realize that I initially watched this due to being a hetero dude who loves T&A however, after watching, I did realize that yes, they CAN play.
Just as you probably are, I'm glad the hemorrhoids who posted otherwise are not in my real life.
if its about football why dress like that
ReplyDeletethey wanted to play football. the only way woman can sometimes play contact sports or get the sponsors, is to dress the way the ones with the money say so. these woman are athletes and if given half a chance they would love to wear real uniforms and pads to protect themselves and just play the game. And as far as the lesbo comment, does that mean any man that watches football is gay. think before you speak.
Deletefrom clips it's not on my cable, I was surprised how good they actually were. they looked like better athletes then our local college women's team. or the roller derby girls.
ReplyDeleteKeep it the way it is. If it is not broke, don't mess with it". It seems everyone is enjoying it just the way it is. These women are very good athletes and the uniforms are awesome. It shows their great bodies like weight lifters, beach volley ball and so on. We love it.....
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a game. I respect them as atheletes and women. If they were all dressed like men, it wouldn't be a lingerie league and some of the enjoyment would be lost. It needs to get on TV to increase support.
ReplyDeleteYa know, if the guys in the NFL dressed the same way, I'd sit and watch... ;-)
ReplyDeleteBelieve me,anyone who watches doesn't look at it to see athletes. For those on here who think this will be a main sporting event, try changing the outfits they wear into typical uniforms and see how fast the league disappears. They don't dress like that to be looked at as athletes. Just the title/name of the league alone suggests scantily dressed participation. The lingerie was the selling point. That's what they used to get viewers.
ReplyDeleteThe LFL will probably be changed to the "Ladies' Football League"
ReplyDeletei would to smell those shorts after the game.
