Jay-Z rents $1 million play place for daughter at Barclays Center

There is no denying that child care can be quite expensive. Just ask Jay-Z after the hip-hop icon is reportedly ponying up $1 million a year to rent a nursery at a sports arena for his baby daughter.

More from RTV6:

The Empire State of Mind hitmaker, who is a part-owner of the basketball franchise, and his wife are regulars at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, where Jay-Z rang in the New Year on stage with Coldplay, and to avoid straying too far from little Blue Ivy, who turns one on Monday (07Jan13), the couple has agreed to splash out on a custom suite, complete with toys and a crib, for the toddler, according to reports.

The luxurious mini palace also includes a champagne bar, TV, and walls made of glass to double as a place to entertain the couple's friends.

Jay-Z has had an ownership stake in the team since 2004.
