The team released a statement on Thursday proclaiming that alcohol sales will cease upon the beginning of the second half. The standard cut-off time has previously been the end of the third quarter.
"Night games previously have presented us with more challenges than normal with regard to inappropriate behavior," Lambeau security chief Doug Collins said in a statement announcing the intensified measures. "We are asking fans to enjoy the game responsibly and also help us out by reporting poor conduct to stadium and law enforcement personnel, either in person, or by text at the number posted in the stadium."
Team officials also cautioned those who are planning to attend the game that security personnel will be extra vigilant during the course of the affair in order to keep fans in check.
So, why the precautionary measures, one may ask?
Well, it is Saturday night, it is against a hated rival, and it is a do-or-die playoff situation. Yeah, I would say those are a potential recipe for a rowdy crowd.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
