Former MLB outfielder Elijah Dukes arrested, again
Former MLB outfielder Elijah Dukes was arrested on Monday after reportedly failing to appear in court on several drug and traffic charges.
Dukes was booked into the Hillsborough County jail in his hometown of Tampa Bay. Dukes previously played for the Tampa Bay Rays organization from 2003-2007.
Dukes remained in jail as of Tuesday morning, without bail.
The 28-year old faces multiple charges, including driving with a cancelled or revoked license, possession of marijuana, and tampering with physical evidence of drug paraphernalia.
Dukes last played in the majors in 2009 for the Washington Nationals. He batted .242 with 31 home runs and 123 RBI in 240 lifetimes games.
Dukes has been arrested multiple times before with charges ranging from assault to failure to pay child support.
