Washington Nationals phenom Bryce Harper made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Tuesday night. Unlike in a past interview over the summer, Harper agreed to answer some of Kimmel's clown questions. Naturally, baseball players are considered the most superstitious athletes in sports. So, it is only fitting that Kimmel touched upon the topic.
When asked about his superstitions, here is what Harper had to say:
“I get to the field at 12:00 for a 7:05 game, and it starts from there. I shower seven times while I’m at the field and I don’t even need too. Yeah, it’s bad. As long as … I’m doing good or my team’s winning, I’m gonna keep doing the same thing. Wearing the same undershirt, I mean, I eat Eggo waffles. It has to be Eggo before the game. I mean, it’s really weird. PB and honey, I mean, I’m really superstitious.”
Seven showers? SEVEN? Chalk one up for cleanliness, folks. Well, aside from wearing the same undershirt part.
Oh, and you can't go wrong with waffles, especially Eggo.
Harper is preparing for his second season in the majors after bursting onto the scene in 2012. He earned Rookie of the Year honors and helped guide the Nationals to baseball's best record after batting .270 with 22 homers and 59 RBI. And the guy is still only 20-years old!
