Video: Butler upsets Indiana in OT
The Butler Bulldogs continue to epitomize the meaning of an underdog.
On Saturday, they pulled off an improbable upset victory over the undefeated and No. 1 ranked Indiana Hoosiers, 88-86, in overtime. They did so thanks in large part to walk-on Alex Barlow, who sank the eventual game-winning shot with just 2.3 ticks remaining on the clock. The sophomore guard had previously scored a combined 18 points in his college career before Saturday's bout with the Hoosiers. Thus, making the whole outcome that much crazier.
Under head coach Brad Stevens, the Bulldogs finished as National Runner-Ups in 2010 and 2011 after making magical runs through the NCAA Tournament. Their propensity for wild upsets and incredible tournament runs have made them one of the most loved underdog stories in the country. Well, outside of Bloomington, of course.
