Norwegian kicker earns tryout with Jets after posting YouTube video

The New York Jets have a raging quarterback controversy on their hands. They have been juggling the trio of Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, and Tim Tebow all year long. However, they also seem to be concerned about their kicking game as well.

Seen here is a Norwegian kicker named Havard Rugland doing some pretty amazing things with a pigskin. So amazing in fact that someone from the Jets organization saw the video and decided to contact Rugland for a tryout.

Rugland's kicking coach, Michael Husted, fielded the inquiry and agreed to a workout in San Diego. Apparently, it was a success.

"It went well," Rugland told Norway's NRK. "They tested me on field goals and kickoffs. Obviously you feel a little more pressure here, but I stayed pretty calm."

As you can see, Rugland appears capable to kick a football any distance, from any place, and at any time. He has been compared to current Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski, who hails from Poland and holds several NFL kicking records.
