Video: Gregg Popovich does not believe in being happy during games

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is about as intense as they come. Rarely does he ever smile and part of that may be because he doesn't believe in being "happy" during games. This video taken before the fourth quarter of the San Antonio's game against the OKC Thunder on Thursday serves as evidence.

This is what Popovich had to say when asked by David Aldridge, TNT's NBA sideline reporter, how "happy" he was with the team's shot selection:

"Happy? Happy? Happy's not a word we think about in the game," Popovich explained to Aldridge. "Think of something different. I don't know how to judge 'happy.' We're in the middle of a contest. Nobody's happy."

Is anyone else thinking back to the scene from Remember the Titans when Coach Boone gets on Petey Jones about whether or not football is fun? "Zero fun, sir."

There is a slight chance that Popovich cracked a smile after the Spurs prevailed by a score of 86-84 over the Thunder. That also means he may have experienced a slimmer of happiness, but I wouldn't bet my bottom dollar on it.
