Pitching legend Nolan Ryan has cookbook in the works

Baseball pitching great Nolan Ryan has served up his fair share of heated fastballs over the years. And it appears as though the Hall of Famer is ready to serve up some advice on how to prepare a good meal as well.

From the Associated Press:

The game's all-time strikeout king is also a longtime Texas rancher and has compiled dozens of his favorite recipes for ''The Nolan Ryan Beef Cookbook.'' Little, Brown and Co. announced Monday that the book is scheduled for May 2014.

The 65-year-old Ryan also plans to work in a few baseball stories, from his years pitching for the New York Mets, California Angels and other teams to his current job as CEO and president of the Texas Rangers. His previous books include the memoirs ''Miracle Man'' and ''Throwing Heat.''

I don't know about you, but I'm chomping at the bit to see what kind of recipes "The Ryan Express" divulges in this thing.

  1. You named the two teams he played for the least, not the teams he made a career with? Do you know anything about baseball? He is a Texas legend and played for both the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, the other teams are just a sidenote, so why name them over his real teams?
