Boise State unveils all black uniforms

It seems like every week a college football team is scrapping their traditional drab in favor of black uniforms. The Boise State Broncos will be the latest culprits when they don their new attire against the UNLV Rebels on Saturday.

Check out the following photo of the newly-designed helmet. The Bronco looks either really intimidating or really possessed...or both.

    2. Really Cool! BSU wouldn't be on the map without the football team, for pete's sake. They are cool too bad we didn't wear them against Mich. State.

  2. My child goes to Boise state, and while in understant that the football team and other sports do bring money into the school i have to say that seems like a lot of money wasted on all these uniforms could be better used for scholarships???

    1. Oh come on now!! I'm a Grams with a grandson at BSU who has benefited from the $$ that football brings in. Go big Black n Blue!

    2. The uniforms were donated by Nike. Big time schools, like Oregon, get big titles (like Nike) to dontate special uniforms and that's what Nike did for us this game. They did the same thing for us during the BSU, VA Tech game a couple of years ago. It's a good thing and I think they look awesome!

  6. Good! Now the advantage of "camoflage" with their BLUE field wont disrupt visiting teams...now its "fair". Buck the Froncos!

    1. When the vandals win, you can comment then.Sometimes the scandals need camo to hide with, considering how their always getting their butts kicked.

    4. It was only 12 years ago or so that the Vandals held the "Dynasty" over the Froncos for over a decade...how quickly we forget. The point, if your uniforms are the same color as your field, it gives an advantage...take your time, think about it.

  8. Black is not one of Boise State's school colors. I have season tickets and if I go to the game, I'm going to wear all white. At least I'll be wearing one of the school colors that is part of their Blue and Orange uniforms when they play away games. I can't see wearing black uniforms just to appease the Vandal crowd here in Boise.

    2. Once again...The uniforms were donated by Nike. BSU did not pay anything for them. What school in thier right mind would turn down free Nike Pro Combat uniforms? Exactly none!

  9. Nobody is trying to appease the vandal crowd dumb ass. And if you are that big of a prick to wear all white in protest of a promotional uniform that will be worn once, you dont deserve those season tickets, I hope your rear gets booted and or beat just like a true drunken vandal dick head. Poser, support the team.

  10. BSU STANDS FOR BULL SHIT UNIVERSITY. IF YOU THINK THATS BAD SEE WHAT THEY BLEW FOR ALL NEW PIANOS AT 25000. PER PIANO ALMOST 200 THOUSAND.

  11. The uniforms are a great design by Nike. BSU is very fortunate.
Vandals are just jealous - Uncle Phil does not support losers.
It seems Oregon gets a new uniform every game so when Nike designs a uniform for another team it is an honor.

We to, will be dressed in black. Oh and by the way.... 13. Great look! But they should only be allowed to wear them during daylight hours. Why, they would almost be invisible at night!! and that wouldn't be fair.

  14. Black & Blue. So cool.by the way Boise's playing, the other teams are going to look black and blue just like them. Go Broncos.

    1. I find it amusing that there is such a furor over a football uniform. You can tell who are the ignorant Vandal fans/alumi. My goodness, there are bigger things going on in our country, so stop the bullshit over black uniforms. I think they are awesome. GO BRONCOS.

    2. Looks like the Vandals will being playing one more time on the blue after all this year....but, we just need to add a little bit more gold to those black uniforms so we have the color right for the school. Nice to have you Boise fans come watch us play on your field again.

  15. If they added gold so the Vandals look like they are playing, it would be the second game the Vandals would win this year. If you really want to save money - drop the Vandals sports program. Then it will truly turn into the University of Intoxication

  16. COOL! I Like them! I like the idea of a BLACKOUT!

Last time I checked, most players are ON the field and their POV is different... meaning when they look across the field they see other players, coached, ball boys, cheerleaders, photographer, fans, refs, security and a bunch of ad signs. Its the fans in the seat that have to look down on the field... I guess you could say... If you step on the blue and your hanging your head down, I already know how the games going to go for you... You'll be seeing a lot of BLUE... I mean BLACK!
