This goes without saying, but this could've ended real bad for Chicago White Sox southpaw Francisco Liriano. The play occurred Thursday night in Kansas City when Royals hitter Eric Hosmer hits a sharp one-hopper right back up the box. Divine intervention then kicks in as Liriano makes a no-look, behind-the-back grab to throw out Hosmer at first base.
The miraculous, jewel-saving snag is further evidence that it is indeed better to be lucky than good. The Sox may have dropped the game, 4-3, but Liriano was able to walk out of Kauffman Stadium after the game with his boys intact and his manhood still in place.
