Seen on the right is pro tennis star Andy Murray sporting a new hairdo at the Monte Carlo Open. But it isn't his shaved head that's causing a buzz (pun intended), it's how he arrived at the fresh-cut look in the first place.
The no. 4 ranked player in the world decided to give himself a little trim before partaking in the event, however, buzzed off more of his locks than he originally planned. His mom, Judy, humored the media with the exact story:
"Andy borrowed some clippers from Treacle [trainer Matt Little], and didn't know that it would be so short," she said in Sweden. "Once he had started shaving his head at grade one, there was no going back; he had to carry on as you couldn't have the hair different lengths. So he hadn't worked out the settings on the clippers before he used them."
When asked what she thought of her son's new look she concluded with this, "I like the haircut."
Unfortunately, his hair seems to be his token of strength as the Scotsmen fell to Tomas Berdych 6-7 (4) 6-2 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
