Billy the Marlin's New Look

Old look
New look

The Florida, check that, the Miami Marlins are making sweeping changes this offseason in preparation for 2012.

They've already changed their name, changed their stadium, and now they're giving their beloved mascot a makeover.

Will the moves aid in igniting excitement and drawing fans to the games? Only time will tell, but there's no denying the Fish are gearing up to open their new stadium with a bang.

If you haven't seen this footage of Marshall WR Aaron Dobson making what some people are referring to as "The Catch", than you have seriously deprived yourself.

Erin Andrews' Gatorade Bath

Baylor upset #5 Oklahoma 45-38 in Waco this past Saturday, and ESPN correspondent and male-heartthrob Erin Andrews was right there in the middle of it -- at least the post-game celebration part.

Seen here is Andrews' reaction after getting inadvertently soaked by Gatorade after the game. Classic.

Crazy Catch By A Chief (Video)

Jonathan Baldwin of the Kansas City Chiefs hauled in an improbable catch on Sunday versus Denver.

With his vision of the pass blocked by Broncos defender Brian Dawkins, Baldwin hauled in the grab in amazing fashion going around Dawkins to do so.

The Chiefs lost the game 17-10, but Baldwin's catch will go down as one of the more remarkable ones of the season.

5 Missed Kicks to Help Boise Kicker Feel Better (Video)

Boise State kicker Dan Goodale saw his game-winning field goal attempt as time expired sail wide right on Saturday, and with it, the Broncos' legitimate chance of winning a BCS National Championship.

Here are some other notable missed field goals that either altered a team's season or re-wrote the record books....much like Goodale's did:

The Wedding on Ice! (Video)

Nothing like saying "I do" than doing so on top of a giant block of frozen water.

And that's exactly what this hockey-loving couple from Vancouver did back in September. Brit Wong (29) and Drew Burant (29) traded vows at center ice, partook in a ceremonial puck drop after swapping rings and then skated off to the sounds of a goal horn. How romantic.

All members of the wedding party stood in unision with ice skates, while the guests were seated in chairs adorned with rally towels and blankets in case they got to feeling a little chill.

Thanks to Greg Wyshynski of Yahoo! Sports for the video and story.

LeBron James Disses Adoring Fan (Video)

If there's one thing "The Chosen One" is good at, it's making a fool of others AND himself.

Whether he's spewing degrading comments in a post-game presser, making the towel boy's job harder, or promoting one of the most dubious broadcasts in sports history ("The Decision"), LeBron James has a knack for making people dislike him.

And although his latest shenanigan isn't too bad, the act is just another reason why he's viewed as one of the most villanious athletes in the world of sports.

It's not good karma anyway you slice it, perhaps that's why after eight seasons in the NBA he still has ZERO rings.

Fair or Foul? (Video)

Ryan Clark and the Steelers think the following hit was clean, the NFL disagrees as evidenced by the $40,000 fine they levied on the Pittsburgh safety.

Decide for yourself...was the hit clean or not?

One Gnarly Wave (Video)

Wanna see a surfer successfully negotiate a 90-foot wave? Look no further, your video footage is here.

The dude on the board is none other than Hawaii surfing icon Garrett McNamara, and the location of this gnarly wave is a spot about 70 miles north of Portugal.

According to members of his group that witnessed the spectacle, it is the largest wave ever ridden.

Big thanks to Pete Thomas of for the video & story.

Incredible Blocked Kick (Video)

It's not everyday you get to see a man jump over a 300-pound NFL lineman and proceed to block a field goal. Well, today you do.

Watch as Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer elects to not go around or through, but OVER the line en route to an incredible block on special teams.

"Are you kidding me?"

The Rubik's Cube Master (Video)

While mastering the Rubik's cube may not be considered a sport, juggling technically is. Many have tried to execute these baffling feats over the course of their lives, and yet many have failed.

Well, not this guy. He can do the SAME time. I'm not kidding either. See for yourself as David Calvo juggles two Rubik's cubes using one hand, while solving a completely different cube in his other.

Mind-blowing I know.

Mandy Moore's UFC Pick (Video)

Okay, so when did Mandy Moore become a mixed martial arts expert?

I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know more people would watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) if she was calling the fights.

Seen here is the beautiful 27-year old making her prediction for the upcoming heavyweight battle between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos. The fight is scheduled for Saturday, November 12th at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Anyways, here is the actress/model/singer/fashion designer/songwriter's pick for the's sure to be "A Walk Fight to Remember":

Footballer Nearly Decapitates Spectator (Video)

It feels like everyday there's another knucklehead move made by a soccer player -- today is no different.

Watch as New York Red Bulls futbol player Luke Rodgers kicks the ball in the stands out of frustration, and nearly decapitates an innoncent onlooker in the process.

The boneheaded move came late in their match against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday night. The visiting Galaxy got the last laugh, however as they escaped city with a 3-1 victory.

Thanks goes to Brooks Peck of Yahoo! Sports for the find.

Prep Player Throws Down Nasty Dunk (Video)

Kedar Edwards is a senior basketball star at West Oaks (Fla.) Academy. Although unranked by the major recruiting services, this self-assisted slam may help propel him up the rankings.

Watch as the 6-foot-3 guard posterizes an opposing player with an alley-oop to himself. It's unknown whether or not the guy he dunked will every recover from the traumatic experience (not really).

Weird Soccer Mishap (Video)

Apparently, FIFA has a rule in place that requires a yellow card be given to any player who removes their shirt during a match. Of course, if that player's already been booked for a yellow card, the consequence of shedding one's jersey would result in an automatic ejection from the game.

And wouldn't you know it that rare occurrence happened this past Wednesday in a match between Dnipro and Karapty.

Straight from the video description:

"Just after the hour the substitutes board was held up, instructing [Samuel] Inkoom to come off the pitch for teammate Evgeniy Shakhov. But before Inkoom managed to haul himself into an early bath, the player managed to get himself sent off.

As he ran towards the sidelines to exit the pitch, Inkoom removed his Dinpro top. That shirt removal was spotted by the yes-man referee, who in turn flashed the midfielder his second yellow of the game."

LeBron in New Nike Ad (Video)

Nike blends music legend Frank Sinatra with Miami Heat star LeBron James in its newest ad series entitled "Basketball Never Stops".

If Bron Bron is truly working as hard as this video clip makes it seem -- his quest for a first NBA Championship may come to an end soon. Of course, this is assuming the lockout is lifted in due time.
